My research focuses on understanding how different ions found in Canadian groundwater affect copper corrosion. I use a simulated groundwater solution that is based on groundwater that would be found at one of the two future deep geological repository (DGR) sites in Canada. The DGR is a part of Canada’s plan for safe, secure, and long-term storage of used nuclear fuel.
When I’m not in the lab making simulated groundwater, I enjoy going for walks/hiking with friends through one of the many trails in the London area. The remainder of my free time is consumed by keeping my excessive number of houseplants alive.
