Dr. Jian Chen

Dr. Jian Chen, a Research Scientist at the Department of Chemistry, Western University (London, Ontario, Canada) and Adjunct Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China), has > 14 years working experience. He has a Ph. D. degree in Corrosion Science & Protection from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. During his academic career, Dr. Chen has authored/co-authored 64 peer-reviewed journal papers, 24 industrial technical reports, and many oral/poster presentations at international conferences. Presently, he serves as Associate Editor of the journal Heliyon, Academic Editor of the journal International Journal of Corrosion, Scanning and AIMS Materials Science, Review Editor of the journal Frontiers in Materials, and as an Editorial board member of Coatings, General Chemistry, Surface Technology and Innovations in Corrosion and Materials Science, and as guest editor of Coatings, Frontiers in Materials, Scanning, Journal of Chemistry, International Journal of Corrosion and AIMS Materials Science. His current research is focused on the environmental sensitivity and safety assessment of high-level nuclear waste containers under permanent disposal conditions and the corrosion behaviour of Ni alloys and light alloys.
