Martin is currently completing his Ph.D. In the Noël group, where he works on determining the stability of Canadian used nuclear fuel in deep geological repository conditions. Martin’s work utilizes electrochemistry, solutions analysis, and surface analysis techniques to probe various corrosion systems in order to understand the mechanistic interaction of various corrosion and radiolytic products with the used fuel matrix.
Martin started in the Noël group in 2017 after completing his undergraduate research thesis under Dr. David Shoesmith. He further developed his surface analysis skills while working as an undergraduate research fellow at Surface Science Western.
