I joined the group in January 2023 as a shared postdoc between the Electrochemistry and Corrosion Science Centre and Surface Science Western. I have a background in electrochemistry and nanoscience with a M.Sc. from McGill University and a Ph.D. from the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center at Aarhus University. My main area of expertise is the development and application of scanning electrochemical probe microscopy at the nanoscale. Here at the University of Western Ontario, I am working on studying the corroding interface at the nanoscale by combing electrochemical techniques with atomic force microscopy and XPS or scanning electrochemical probe microscopy. The goal of the project is to develop predictive models for the long-term corrosion behavior of copper-based materials that will be used as a barrier in nuclear waste storage.
