We are proud to announce that Elham Salehi Alaei from our group has been honoured with the Outstanding Research Award at the 9th International Workshop on Long-Term Prediction of Corrosion in Nuclear Waste Systems (LTC2025). This accolade was awarded for her exceptional work titled “Conversion of Copper Oxide to Copper Sulphide Under DGR-Like Conditions.”
LTC2025 unites experts from academia, industry, and national laboratories to address long-term corrosion challenges in nuclear waste systems, making this award particularly meaningful.
Elham’s research demonstrated both rigorous experimental methodology and direct relevance to deep geological repository (DGR) environments. Her results offer valuable insights into copper transformation pathways under conditions relevant to nuclear waste repositories, advancing corrosion science that supports safer nuclear waste containment.
