Corrosion Division H. H. Uhlig Award

We’re thrilled to announce some fantastic news—our very own Prof. Jamie Noël has been awarded the prestigious H.H. Uhlig Award by the Electrochemical Society (ECS)! This award recognizes outstanding contributions and excellence in corrosion research, and Jamie couldn’t be a more deserving recipient.

Prof. Noël is specifically recognized for his groundbreaking work developing a wide range of electrochemical methods combined with microscopic, spectroscopic, and analytical techniques. His research has significantly advanced our understanding of corrosion, particularly focusing on materials critical to the safe disposal of high-level nuclear waste—an incredibly important global challenge.

Throughout his career, Jamie has been deeply involved with ECS, previously serving as Chair of the ECS Corrosion Division and actively mentoring many emerging scientists in the corrosion field. His innovative thinking and commitment have continually inspired those around him.

Please join us in warmly congratulating Jamie on this very well-deserved recognition—we couldn’t be prouder to have him leading the way here at ECS Western!
