Olivia comes from Guayaquil, Ecuador. She did her B.Eng specializing in Chemical Engineering at Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral (ESPOL) in 2015. She joined Professor Lagugne-Labarthet’s group in the Fall of 2017, her research focused on Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS) of 1D, and 2D materials and their synthesis through Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). She defended her Ph.D. degree in October 2022. In December 2022 she joined Noël’s lab as MITACS postdoctoral researcher in a water treatment project with an electrochemistry approach.
Water treatment is a very cool and exciting project with major applicability in our daily lives. I am very grateful to contribute to areas such as electrochemistry to expand my knowledge of characterization techniques. Having great scientific discussions with colleagues and learning new things are things I look forward to, it is quite fun and challenging.
