The photo taken at the European Spallation Source. Jamie visited ESS as part of the Canadian delegation invited as a technical follow-up to the state visit of Governor General David Johnston and the King of Sweden to the ESS.  The second image (artist rendering) shows the world's brightest synchrotron light source (MAX IV, round building in upper centre) right next to the world's most intense neutron source (ESS, foreground).  The MAX IV is operational; the ESS is a pile of steel and concrete surrounded by mud at the moment.  The final photo is Jamie and the group standing where the neutron guide hall and instruments will eventually be located. Europe is spending 1.8 billion Euros on this project (=$2.6 B CAD).
